Gabions are manufactured from high-strength, corrosion-resistant, and ductile low-carbon steel wire or PVC-coated wire, mechanically woven into a robust mesh. This mesh forms a box-shaped structure known as a gabion basket. In accordance with ASTM and EN standards, the diameter of low-carbon steel wire typically ranges from 2.0 to 4.0 mm, depending on specific project requirements. The gabion wire has a minimum tensile strength of 38 kg/m², and the metal coating weight generally exceeds 245 g/m². The edge wires are typically thicker than the mesh wires, and the twisted double wire sections have a minimum length of 50 mm to ensure protection of both the metal and PVC coatings.
The flexible design of gabion structures allows them to adapt to slope changes without damage, providing superior stability and safety compared to rigid structures. Gabions offer excellent anti-erosion properties and can withstand water velocities of up to 6 m/s. Their permeable structure enables natural groundwater filtration and sediment deposition, promoting the settling of suspended particles and silt within the stone fill. This environment encourages vegetation growth and the gradual restoration of natural ecosystems, making gabions an environmentally friendly solution for erosion control, slope stabilization, and environmental restoration.

Gabions are wire mesh boxes commonly used in combination with geotextiles to reduce water velocity, prevent soil erosion, and retain soil particles. Flat gabions are widely used in civil engineering, particularly in road drainage systems.
Gabion mattresses, which are larger in dimension, are ideal for covering extensive riverbed areas to prevent erosion. This method provides a highly effective solution for both drainage management and environmentally sustainable practices, making it a unique approach to erosion control and environmental protection.
Gabion mattresses are typically made from durable galvanized or PVC-coated wire, providing long-term corrosion protection. Our gabions are produced using high-quality galvanization with an additional 0.5 mm PVC coating, specially designed for hexagonal woven wire meshes, ensuring excellent adaptability to various terrain conditions.
Gabions offer superior structural strength, including:
• High tensile strength of the wire mesh
• Exceptional mesh tear resistance
• High resistance to rupture
• Resistance to chemical, UV, and weathering effects, providing long-term corrosion protection
The rigid modular design of our gabions provides enhanced structural stability and durability. All materials undergo quality control, comply with national standards, and are suitable for a wide range of civil engineering and environmental applications.
